iPhone on sale in the UK

Last night, the Apple iPhone finally went on sale in the UK at O2 and Apple stores across the country. When the doors finally opened at 18.02, queues were waiting to get their hands on one of the sought after devices. In London, people queued overnight in Regent Street. Many of the people who bought them last night were hardened Apple fans like myself, who just had to have one. I was helping out at the brand new O2 store in Welwyn Garden City and it was great to see the reaction of people in the queue when they got to play with the phone for the very first time. We had one customer who had been queuing in Regent St. and then decided to try somewhere else where it was less crazy. This weekend is expected to be busy for iPhone sales and since it makes the perfect "what do I buy my husband / boyfriend for Christmas?" gift, demand expected to be high. I can't imagine anyone being unhappy about receiving an iPhone for Christmas. I bought one for my wife last night and I have to say the set up process was very straightforward. After plugging into iTunes for the first time, it walks you through the entire sign up and configuration process, including migrating your existing number. Now it is synced with iTunes, iPhoto, email etc.. it really comes into it own, basically a mini Apple Mac. It will of course be even better once Apple open the device to developers early next year, the potential for great 3rd party apps is huge. Anyway, don't let me tell you how good it is, get down to an O2 store and buy one for yourself.
